Current Rates & Fees

Students are charged tuition on a per-unit basis, and the current rate of tuition for the 2023-2024 academic year is $2,201 per unit for MAT online and MAT-TESOL online, and $2,244 per unit for OCL Online and SC Online. Total tuition costs will vary depending on a student’s program track.

Tuition and fees typically increase by 3 percent to 5 percent each year. Tuition rates are set by the USC Board of Trustees and typically increase in the fall term.

Fees are typically charged per semester.

Financial Aid for International Applicants

If you are an international student studying in your home country or in the United States on a non-immigrant student visa, you are not eligible for need-based federal student aid programs. You may be eligible to seek employer assistance or scholarship opportunities in your home country.

Scholarships

Students have the opportunity to be considered for a variety of USC Rossier–specific scholarships. These scholarships will be awarded to students with the drive and desire to make a difference. A separate application is not necessary to apply. Learn more about scholarships, fellowships and grants.

This scholarship is awarded to both current and retired members of participating unions, their spouses and their dependent children. At least one year of continuous union membership is required by the applicant, applicant’s spouse or parent.

This fellowship is awarded to individuals who desire to become teachers of the American Constitution at the secondary school level.

Up to $5,000 per year
This scholarship is awarded to students from Maryland with a GPA above 2.0 and a family income below $90,000 a year, or below $66,000 a year for students pursuing career and technology training. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and planning to attend an accredited U.S. program in the upcoming academic year.

What to Expect

First-semester graduate students should expect the following:

  • Tuition for the 2023-2024 academic year is $2,201 per unit for MAT online and MAT-TESOL online.
  • Tuition for the 2023-2024 academic year $2,244 per unit for OCL Online and SC Online.

Health Insurance / Other Fees

USC requires that all students carry comprehensive health insurance, either through USC or an alternate provider. Learn more about this requirement, plans and health insurance options for online students.

Additional Fees

  • A $250 nonrefundable deposit to confirm your enrollment. The deposit will be credited to tuition owed.
  • Up to $3,000 for books, supplies, Internet connectivity and other expenses.
  • MAT / MAT-TESOL Online: Credentialing exam fees, which cost about $300.  (Pursuing a credential is optional for MAT–TESOL students. To learn more about credentialing requirements, please visit our MAT-TESOL Admission page.)
  • OCL Online: Two $550 required on-campus immersions (travel and hotel fees not included).
