Focused on Equity
The mission of USC Rossier is to prepare leaders to achieve educational equity through practice, research, and policy. We work to improve learning opportunities and outcomes in urban settings and to address disparities that affect historically marginalized groups.
We teach our students to value and respect the cultural context of the communities in which they work and to interrogate the systems of power that shape policies and practices. Through innovative thinking and research, we strive to solve the most intractable educational problems.

Students experience early integration of meaningful practicums in their courses from the start. For working professionals and current educators, practicums can be completed in their own classroom or organization. For aspiring teachers, practicums will take place through a placement in a classroom in their community. The practicum component of each program of study is unique.

Led by USC Rossier faculty, class sessions are held in a seminar format on a live video platform. Students experience a face-to-face learning environment in which faculty and peers participate in scheduled class sessions each week.
